INDEPENDENT will be joining the workshop on flexible energy communities at the Sustainable Places Conference, taking place in Milan from 8-10 October 2025.
Alongside sister project STUNNED and other innovative EU projects, INDEPENDENT will present its approach to energy flexibility as part of the broader effort to address the operational and contractual complexities of flexibility in energy communities.
The workshop, titled “Building flexible energy communities: Remuneration, aggregation & market interfaces”, will take place on 9 October 2025, 4-6.30 PM CET. It will showcase tested solutions for managing flexibility in energy communities, exploring strategies to optimise distributed energy assets, design fair governance and contractual models, and deploy enabling digital and physical infrastructure. The session will provide concrete insights into how flexibility can be effectively activated and managed across diverse community settings.
Participating projects include: STUNNED, MASTERPIECE, FEDECOM, NEON, E-BUSCO, InterPED and INDEPENDENT.
